Powered by the Sheldon Event Centre, 97th Street Kitchen is one of the most unique and iconic Food Trucks in Australia, providing exceptional food combined with a dedicated team of chefs and waitstaff working to exceed your expectations.

The vehicle itself is a 1988 American Chevy Step Van, that was originally a bread delivery truck in Los Angeles for over 30 years. We found this unique XXL truck online, imported it to Brisbane and transformed it into a full-service kitchen complete with music and lighting.

The kitchen build was performed by a local food truck manufacturer. The kitchen design and equipment set up was created as per the Executive Chef’s vision, in order to ensure as smooth a kitchen operation as possible.

The fit out reflects a commercial kitchen set up. We have one of the first gas combi ovens fitted into a Food Truck. The set up also includes bratt pan, fryer, stove, dual temp fridge drawers (fridge/freezer capable) drinks fridge, bain marie, hot box, Holdomat slow cooking oven and more. The kitchen is designed to be multi purpose for any style of catering from a plated sit down meal to Street Food.

97th Street Kitchen is a business built on passion for food, passion for the industry, experience, drive, persistence and a hunger for further knowledge.

97th Street Kitchen’s Executive Chef is Fabian Iseli. Over the past 25 years, having worked in kitchens across the globe in various catering styles, Fabian has acquired an expansive knowledge of International cuisine and cooking styles. From Luxury Yachts, 5 Star Hotels, Wineries, Bulk Food Preparation, Fine Dining to Street Food, Fabian and the team have worked in many fast paced environments.

The team comprises of baristas, an international Chef experienced in 5-star catering and waitstaff working across a range of special functions, private functions, and events. We make dishes from scratch and having a full size commercial kitchen as a home base, enables us to produce a lot of items in-house, as opposed to buying in.

Being a Non-Food Style Specific Truck, enables us to cook a vast variety of cuisines. We endeavour to create menus that are delicious, rustic and cultural. We incorporate a bit of fun into our menus and cook traditional dishes the correct way.

We’re proud to turn our kitchen waste into garden gold!

97th Street Kitchen is very passionate in the use of recyclable & environment friendly serving plates and cutlery. All our serving items are compostable.

Our serving plates range from sugar cane pulp containers to palm leaf plates and even compostable coffee cups and lids. Our cutlery is made from wood.

We do not encourage the use of plastic straws, however on request we supply paper straws for drinks.

Being able to prepare in our commercial kitchen enables us to easily separate our compostable scraps and use them in our own lush gardens.
